Do you have Factory/Production experience and a Counterbalance FLT License?
Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Production Operator, working for a client located in West Auckland. Due to the industry my client work in, candidates must be comfortable and happy to work in a very 'dirty' work environment - full PPE will be provided, including masks must be worn when processing. Although, FLT duties is a part of the role it is only going to be 10-15% of your duties.
The role is working chemical powders, measuring and weighing them to a specific formulation/recipe and involves a considerable amount of manual handling as these powders are packed in 20/25kg bags and they are to be weighed out to meet the correct formulation and loaded into hoppers. Because a large amount of these powders are graphite's of some description, the job is very dirty.
You will also need to be able to record daily production and other paperwork tasks and be able to load and unload wagons as well as follow daily housekeeping tasks. Loading and unloading wagons of incoming and outgoing goods and collect the correct raw materials from the warehouse and this is where the FLT license is necessary.
Production Operator Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- To ensure correct materials are selected and weighed off
- To mix materials in dry mixer in correct order and check it has mixed correctly
- To mix materials in mixer in correct order, ensuring correct temperature
- When using relevant machinery, ensure correct size screens are used and inspect mix for particle size
- Take samples as required for moisture, pore, and ignition
- To load and unload wagons as required, ensuring goods match paperwork, quantities are correct, and load is in good condition. Record deliveries and move to warehouse in correct location
- To complete production sheets, machine maintenance sheets door seals and cutter sheets
- To ensure working hours coincide with TMD's delivery/collection schedules during day shift operation
- To bale waste bags, cardboard and plastic as required
- To monitor and change when required dust plant bags
- In the absence of the Team Leader, ensure correct stock rotation and carry out stock count of materials when required
- To comply with company rules, regulations, working practices and procedures

Production Operator Applicants:
- Must have previous factory/production experience
- Must hold a valid accredited counterbalance license, have an in-house license or have an expired (within last 6 months) accredited license. Refresher training will be provided.
- Be happy to work in 'dirty environment'
- Ideally hold a Full UK License due to the work location
Working 38 hours, over a flexible 4-day week. Commonly Monday-Thursday but could be any combination of Monday-Friday. Overtime is compulsory if notice is provided the week prior. Start time is 7.30am until 4.30pm with 30 minutes unpaid lunch and 2 x 10minute paid breaks.
PPE is provided as are showers and a laundry facility. Operators will be required to wear an airstream mask when mixing. Hourly rate is £12.30 per hour, rising after the first 3 months to £13.39 (if able to meet targets).
