Job Description:
The Materials Supervisor will oversee stock control throughout the business, ensuring that targets and objectives are met in alignment with customer requirements. This position involves supervising the stores and dispatch team to ensure compliance with health, safety, and standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control and enhance all aspects of the stores and dispatch functions, ensuring on-time supply to assembly and prompt dispatch to customers.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, procedures, and team performance.
  • Manage receipt, inspection, storage, movement, and dispatch of goods to maintain efficient and accurate transactions.
  • Oversee stock movement, maintaining precise stock levels through regular cycle counts.
  • Manage customer returns, warranty, and quarantine processes effectively.
  • Implement 5S and uphold housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Plan staffing levels to meet daily operational requirements.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience supervising a stores and dispatch area in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong experience in stock rotation and familiarity with systems like Kardex or similar carousel systems.
  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Strong initiative and a desire to make tangible improvements.
  • Full UK driving license.
