Senior Site Engineering & Operations Manager   - Waste Incineration  

Our client is a leading waste management business at the cutting edge of its sector. This is a career defining position and the opportunity to lead an operation and be part of an exciting UK roll out. This role with require strong site leadership, high levels of Engineering and Technical competence and a robust skill set encapsulating Facility Optimization, Continuous Improvement and Sustainability initiatives. 

Some of the key responsibilities include. 

  • Engineering management  will include: site capability build up and ongoing maintenance, Plant maintenance, Budgets, Inspections and Inventory, Safety Management systems
  • Site Management will include: Day to day operations including the disposal of various types of waste and ensure the proper handling and destruction of confidential materials The site will ensure all waste handling and disposal activities comply with local and government policies as well as health and safety standards and adhere to Environmental agency permit and European legislation on emissions standards
  • Facility Optimization and Sustainability will include managing the process of converting heat from incineration into electricity through steam turbines and develop strategies to minimize environmental impacts and divert waste from landfills

The qualifications and experience required. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in waste management or related industrial processes
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety
  • CIWM WAMITAB (COTC) Level 4 (Preferable but not essential)
  • Strong knowledge of high-temperature incineration technologies and processes
  • Experience with functional safety management systems
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and waste management legislation
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

This role requires a combination of technical expertise, operational management skills, and a commitment to environmental sustainability in the context of waste disposal through high-temperature incineration
