We are seeking an experienced Lead Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated team at the Trust. The Trust is committed to delivering high-quality healthcare services across the North East of England. Payment Mode: Direct Engagement

Description:

  • Oversee the occupational therapy department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care and developing innovative therapeutic strategies.
  • Responsible for the delivery of occupational therapy services across the designated service area.
  • Provide specialist advice to occupational therapy staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Manage complex requests for occupational therapy, triaging and prioritising these, completing evidence-based assessments and interventions.
  • Use client-centred approaches to co-produce negotiated occupational goals and evaluate these with service users collaboratively.
  • Participate in and provide clinical/professional and management supervision.
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary team working.
  • Lead on service improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Utilize the Trust electronic patient record system.
  • Abide by all Trust policies and procedures.
  • Respond flexibly and creatively to challenges.

Skills:

  • Substantial clinical experience in the service area.
  • Experience of leading clinical governance activities including clinical audit.
  • Extensive experience in clinical supervision of staff.
  • Demonstrated effective clinical leadership.
  • Ability to articulate the role of the Occupational Therapy Service to a wide and diverse range of people.
