About the Role
I am recruiting on behalf of a client in County Durham who are seeking a detail-oriented Food Safety Technician to join the technical team. This role involves managing the food safety, environmental, and facility systems for the site, coordinating compliance with all regulatory bodies, and maintaining high standards in safety, environmental stewardship, and facility upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee food safety and environmental systems, ensuring ongoing compliance with all standards.
  • Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits.
  • Develop and maintain all site accreditations, policies, and procedures.
  • Update technical information, liaise with HR for training needs, and manage site compliance registers.
  • Provide support and guidance on food safety, environment, and facilities for the site team.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Skills: Advanced Food Safety knowledge, HACCP Level 4, Lead Auditor in ISO 22000 & ISO 14000, BRC standards, strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge: Expertise in food safety, environmental legislation, and auditing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience: Hands-on experience with food safety and environmental systems, internal/external audits, and managing facilities in line with ISO and BRC standards. 
  • Attributes: A proactive, team-oriented individual with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
