Assistant Quantity SurveyorBasic salary between £26000 and £28000This is a great opportunity to join an award-winning manufacturing and construction company based in the North East.As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key member of the project team, responsible for managing aspects of the commercial and contractual activities on the assigned sections of the project. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the project's financial success and delivering it to the highest standards of quality, within budget and on schedule.

The Job:

  • Preparation and submission of valuations.
  • Preparation of accurate take offs from drawings.
  • Pricing of contract variations.
  • Preparation of subcontractor payment certificates.
  • Control of supply chain ensuring full visibility of liabilities.
  • Issue of subcontract enquiries, compare quotes, undertake negotiations and place comprehensive orders.
  • Site visits to assess progress against plan (When required).
  • General administration duties within the Quantity Surveying Department.
  • Setting up and inputting data to standard spreadsheets for Cost Value Reconciliation.
  • Monthly valuations.
  • Liaising with the main Contractor's QS for certification and instructions.

The Person:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a similar financial discipline desirable but not essential.
