My client is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their Finance Business Unit. This role is crucial for the day-to-day financial administration and offers an opportunity to support various financial matters including cash management, sales/purchases administration, and month-end accounts preparation.
Day-to-day of the role:- Assist the Financial Controller with all financial matters throughout the year.
- Maintain bank reconciliations and manage sales administration, including raising internal and external sales invoices.
- Provide assistance with month-end accounts preparation, balance sheet administration, and ad hoc reconciliations.
- Handle invoice coding and tracking, ensuring approvals are sought where required.
- Perform ad hoc reconciliations and analysis as required by the Financial Controller.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working within a finance function.
- Strong understanding of accounting processes and procedures, with experience working across multiple areas of a finance function.
- Experience operating accounting software.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Desirable: Experience with month-end procedures and reconciliations, and in preparing or assisting with month-end accounts preparation.
- Highly motivated and able to meet designated timescales.
- Diligent, well-organised with high attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently and managing daily requirements.
- Methodical and pragmatic approach to tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to maintain strong working relationships across the business.
- Ability to assess and think of ways to improve working processes.
