MTrecs New Opportunity.

MTrec Recruitment are proudly representing our Bishop Auckland based prestigious manufacturing client who are looking to recruit a health and safety coordinator to join their team, initially on a temporary basis. Your task as a health and safety coordinator will be to provide temporary H&S support to the engineering and Maintenance department. This position is working on a special project for the business to update their machine procedures including lock out and tag out. If you have a health and safety background, or you are experienced in writing and updating procedures within a manufacturing environment, please apply for an immediate response.

The Job Youll Do.

  • Review/re-write or write Processes and Procedure (as applicable) and ensure they are properly imbedded in the department and in line with relevant local and UK legislation.
  • Check and validate the procedure in the manufacturing areas.
  • Continuously refine and update the procedure until you have the right solution.
  • Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workshop.
  • Review machine safety areas and provide recommendations to the Engineering Manager.

About You.

  • Ideally you will be NEBOSH or IOSH certified.
  • You will have experience of working in a manufacturing environment and either been in a dedicated health and safety role, or you will have been in a role which has had some of the requirements of this opportunity.
  • Ideally you will experience with machine safety procedures.
  • Relevant experience writing SOPs.
  • Good communications skills at all levels.
  • Conscientious and reliable.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
