Key responsibilities

Practice as an expert teaching and learning practitioner in the context of a modern and flexible curriculum. This includes:

  • planning learning activity collaboratively with learners and identifying learning opportunities with maximum impact on learning and positive outcomes for le
  • delivering teaching and facilitating learning to a high standard
  • ensuring effective learning and assessment of learners takes place
  • developing expert learners.

Implement assessment approaches that meet the requirements of internal and external agencies:

  • promoting high levels of achievement, learner outcomes and progression
  • carrying out Internal Verification and Moderation
  • carefully tracking and monitoring learner attainment and achievement.

Work within a curriculum team to implement highly effective systems and procedures that support learners and curriculum delivery:

  • implement agreed strategies to improve student attendance, retention, achievement and progression rates and meet success rate targets.
  • Implement agreed processes that ensure effective recruitment, induction, attendance, retention, achievement, attainment and progression of learners within each subject/course.
  • comply with management information procedures relating to students attendance, retention, recording and tracking achievement, progression and learner satisfaction in line with set deadlines.
It is essential for you to have experience of teaching in two or more of the following:
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training
  • Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
  • Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent
  • Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (Apprenticeship)

Qualifications & Membership

  • Possesses a degree or equivalent
  • Has a Cert Ed/PG aPGCEnd Qualified Teacher Status or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills Status.
  • Has IC sICTkills equivalent to a minimum Level 2 standard.
  • Has very good numerical and literacy skills equivalent to a minimum Level 2 standard.
