Security level

This role will require the person to obtain full Security Clearance (SC) You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. In addition, this role involves direct and/or indirect access to Caveat Material which means there are restrictions on nationalities.

Our client, a leading entity in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking an ETF Technician to join their team in Bishopton. This is a contract role for a duration of 12 months, ideally suited for individuals with a background in technical operations within the defence and security landscape. As an ETF Technician, you will be instrumental in conducting test and evaluation trials, ensuring compliance and safety throughout each process. This role is full-time and onsite with no hybrid arrangements.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Functioning within a team to conduct test and evaluation trials
  • Interfacing with both internal and external customers
  • Ensuring compliance with pre-trials risk assessments for safe trial conduction
  • Adhering to SHE legislation requirements
  • Following and complying with the quality management system
  • Recording test data and adhering to relevant test plans
  • Assisting with continuous improvement and performance measurement activities
  • Maintaining technical competency
  • Helping to deliver trials within set timescales and budget constraints


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in a technical role, preferably within the defence and security sector
  • Understanding of test and evaluation trial processes
  • Compliance with safety and SHE legislation standards
  • Proficiency in maintaining and adhering to quality management systems
  • Strong data recording and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external stakeholders
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and performance measures
  • Security clearance (BPSS + SC in flight & ITAR)
