About the Company:A growing and reputable accountancy practice in Blackburn is looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Semi Senior to join their team. This role offers a great opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to gain exposure to a variety of clients across multiple industries while continuing their professional development.
The Role:As an Accounts Semi Senior, you will work closely with senior accountants to prepare accounts, assist with tax compliance, and support a portfolio of clients. You will also gain valuable experience in bookkeeping, VAT returns, and year-end processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements in line with UK GAAP.
- Completing VAT returns and bookkeeping for a range of clients.
- Preparing tax computations and assisting with tax compliance.
- Liaising with clients to gather information and resolve queries.
- Supporting senior accountants with ad-hoc tasks and client work.
- Maintaining accurate financial records using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks.
- Assisting with management accounts and providing general accounting support.
- Ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed to a high standard.
- Working as part of a team, contributing to the firm’s overall success.
Requirements:
- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with at least 1-2 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
- Experience in preparing accounts and VAT returns.
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and Excel.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks.
- A proactive approach and a desire to continue learning and developing professionally.
