About the Company:A dynamic and well-established accountancy practice in Blackburn is looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to take on a key role, working with a wide range of clients and contributing to the success of the firm.
The Role:As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and overseeing the preparation of year-end accounts, financial statements, and tax returns. You will provide high-quality advisory services to clients, ensuring compliance and offering guidance on various financial matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of clients, including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
- Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP.
- Reviewing accounts prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Preparing corporate tax returns and computations, assisting with tax planning where needed.
- Overseeing the preparation and submission of VAT returns, bookkeeping, and management accounts.
- Providing advisory services to clients on a range of accounting and tax matters.
- Liaising with clients to resolve queries and maintain strong working relationships.
- Assisting in the development and training of junior team members.
- Managing deadlines and workloads to ensure timely and accurate delivery of client services.
- Working with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and Excel to maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3-5 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, accounting standards, and tax compliance.
- Proven experience in managing client relationships and delivering high-quality service.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial matters to clients in a clear and concise way.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple clients and deadlines.
- Experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks, as well as proficiency in Excel.
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
