Assistant Management Accountant

Salary: Up to £33,000 (DOE) + Benefits (Study Support, Flexible Working, Pension)

Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant for a reputable, profitable and growing Manufacturing firm based in Blackburn. We are looking to recruit a high calibre, experienced and ambitious Assistant Management Accountant as a result of an internal promotion and continued growth.

As an Assistant Management Accountant you will be responsible for assisting with the monthly accounts for the business. The role will be very hands on, and you will have the opportunity to progress within the business with Study Support on offer. There is also the opportunity to liaise with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally across the business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, profit & loss accounts and other key financial reports
  • Bank postings and reconciliations on a weekly basis
  • Ensure payments to suppliers are processed on time and supplier accounts are reconciled
  • Assisting with the Month-End accounts
  • Helping and supporting during year end reporting and audits
  • Other ad-hoc duties when required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong accounting experience, either AAT qualified or working towards ACCA or CIMA
  • An ambitious attitude, with the desire of progressing within the business
  • Strong IT Skills and Excel knowledge (VLOOK Ups, Pivot Tables, Formulas etc)
  • Knowledge of accounting systems (Sage Payroll and Sage 200 would be an advantage but not essential)
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced setting
  • Good communication skills and the ability to communicate with stakeholders
