About the Company:An established and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Blackburn is seeking an ambitious Audit Semi Senior to join their growing audit team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant who is looking to develop their audit skills while working with a diverse portfolio of clients across various sectors.

The Role:As an Audit Semi Senior, you will assist with audit assignments from planning through to completion, supporting senior auditors, and gaining valuable experience in both audit and accounts preparation. You will work closely with clients to ensure audits are completed to a high standard and within deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the planning, execution, and completion of audits for a range of clients, including SMEs and larger businesses.
  • Preparing financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Conducting fieldwork and testing, gathering audit evidence, and documenting audit findings.
  • Liaising with clients to gather information and resolve queries during the audit process.
  • Preparing audit working papers and ensuring files are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Supporting senior team members with audit risk assessments and identifying key areas of focus.
  • Assisting in the preparation of accounts and tax computations for clients.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in audit regulations and accounting standards.
  • Managing and prioritising multiple audit assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Working with accounting and audit software such as CaseWare, Excel, and other relevant tools.

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with at least 1-2 years of experience in audit within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong knowledge of audit processes and UK accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in audit and accounting software such as CaseWare, Sage, and Excel.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A willingness to continue studying towards a professional qualification (ACA/ACCA).
