Simpson Judge are partnered with a highly profitable utilities business in Blackburn who are looking to appoint a dynamic Commercial Financial Controller into the team. This role will have a lot of exposure to the MD, CEO and CFO and will have complete ownership of the business unit.
This is a truly unique opportunity to springboard your career, challenge and influence at a Senior level to drive commercial decision making. With broad exposure across M&A, business planning and strategy, this will prepare the successful candidate for a Finance Director role in the future. Candidates will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with a strong commercial acumen and ideally able to start at short notice.
Location: Blackburn (Hybrid - 3 days in the office)
Salary: 60-70k plus bonus
Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic partner with senior managers, challenging and influencing to support strategic goals and drive performance
- Lead the financial planning process, including short and long term planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Production of monthly management accounts and high-quality Management Information to support business decision making
- Supporting with both internal and external audit, providing insights where necessary
- Supporting with M&A any corporate finance activity
Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
- Strong financial planning and analysis skills
- Experience within the Energy/Utilities/Infrastructure sector would be beneficial
- Experience with ERP systems
- Experience in M&A would be a bonus but not essential
