About the role:

As a senior member of the Finance team, the Finance Systems Manager is responsible for the effective management, optimisation, and ongoing development of the companys financial systems. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead initiatives to enhance the functionality of Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring alignment with business objectives and the needs of the Finance function. You will also oversee the resolution of day-to-day system queries and issues, ensuring uninterrupted financial operations.

Key responsibilities:

  • System Ownership: Take full ownership of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform for Finance, ensuring its stability, reliability, and alignment with business requirements
  • Strategic Implementation: Lead the implementation of new system functionalities and upgrades, including Invoice Capture, PO processing, and financial reporting tools, driving continuous improvement
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of two finance systems specialists, providing direction, support, and performance oversight
  • Day-to-Day Management: Oversee the resolution of daily system queries and issues, ensuring a swift and effective response to support uninterrupted operations
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the key liaison between Finance, IT, and external vendors, ensuring the finance systems support wider business needs effectively
  • Compliance and Controls: Establish and maintain strong controls within the financial systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies
  • Process Optimisation: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline financial processes through system enhancements, reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy
  • Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data by implementing robust validation and reconciliation processes
  • User Support and Training: Provide expert-level support to Finance teams, delivering training to maximise the effective use of financial systems
  • Testing and Deployment: Oversee all system testing, including upgrades and new implementations, ensuring changes are delivered with minimal disruption to operations
  • Reporting and Insights: Develop and maintain financial reporting tools, delivering timely and accurate insights to support decision-making
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Support the Finance Director with strategic projects and initiatives as required

Essential:

  • Significant experience managing finance systems, with expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Proven track record of leading ERP implementations or upgrades in a finance setting
  • Strong knowledge of financial processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting
  • Experience managing day-to-day system queries and issues, ensuring timely resolution
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and develop a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders across all levels

Good To Have:

  • Project management certification or experience
  • Understanding of integration between finance systems and other business platforms
  • Knowledge of UK financial regulatory requirements
