Your new companyJoin a well recognised retailer as an Interim Management Accountant in a dynamic finance team and play a key role in monthly management reporting.Your new roleAs Interim Management Accountant, you will support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. You will prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Additionally, you will assist in the audit process by preparing necessary documentation, supporting the preparation of year-end statutory accounts, and maintaining robust processes and controls in line with group requirements. Ensuring consistent documentation of all tasks and continuously reviewing and improving finance processes are also key aspects of this role. You will also undertake various ad-hoc projects to support the finance team and strategic initiatives.What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this role, you should be part qualified or fully qualified in ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, and ideally hold a BA/BSc degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. You will need at least 2 years of relevant experience in management accounting or a similar role, with a proven track record in preparing monthly management accounts, financial statements, and reports. Experience with financial audits and statutory account preparation is essential. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP), advanced Microsoft Excel skills, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication and organisational skills are also required.
