Management Accountant | Blackburn | £60-70k

TalentEdge are supporting a leading privately owned company in the Blackburn area that is looking to add an experienced Management Accountant to their finance team. They pride themselves on their commitment to innovation and excellence as they continue to grow.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for producing accurate management accounts and building strong collaborative relationships. This position offers the opportunity to gain experience across diverse multi-site businesses within the group as well as an opportunity to progress into a Finance Manager type role.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in driving process improvements for businesses within a high turnover business, handling complex stock holdings and movements effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for various business units.
  • Reconcile, analyse, and interpret large data sets, including sales, cost of sales, margin, stock, debtors, and creditors.
  • Manage reconciliations of significant stock transactions and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Manage group stock reconciliations and intercompany stock movements.
  • Collaborate with different departments to communicate financial results and enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Conduct in-depth margin analyses and review profit and loss statements with supporting commentary.
  • Execute full balance sheet reconciliations backed by comprehensive working papers.
  • Assess balance sheet items and make necessary provisions as required.

Requirements:

  • CIMA/ACCA Qualified or qualified by relevant experience (QBE).
  • Proficiency in handling and analysing large data sets with strong skills in reconciling high transaction volumes.
  • Capability to investigate and resolve stock reconciliation challenges effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills focused on financial improvement and operational efficiencies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
