Our client, a specialist manufacturing organization, is looking for a quality specialist / engineer to join their team, initially on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity. As part of a large quality team, this role offers fantastic opportunities to learn from an organisation with a high commitment to training and ongoing personal development, including formal qualifications. The role will be an important part of their quality function, with a focus on managing critical quality systems and procedures and processes. Specific duties will include: -

  • Day to day quality checks with the manufacturing operation
  • Generating quality plans and ensuring they are implemented
  • Quality inspections for goods in, production and goods out
  • Failure investigation and CAPA actions, owning NCs on SME topics
  • Making suggestions for Continuous Improvement
  • Product releases as required and artwork checks
  • Reporting on key quality metrics.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in quality which will include some or all of the following: -

  • A relevant degree (Engineering, Scientific, Business Management, etc) or equivalent industry experience
  • Excellent document management experience
  • Excellent understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Data analysis skills
  • Ideally knowledge of in-depth quality systems which go beyond standard ISO9001 - automotive, aerospace, scientific, pharmaceutical, medical, or any industry where the standards are very stringent
