Analytical Chemist

My client is a highly specialised independent analytical service provider servicing a wide range of multinational companies across all sectors within the UK and further afield. The current position has arisen for an experienced Analytical Chemist to support the service and development of varied client projects.

Ideally the candidate will be an analytical chemist with chromatography experience.

The role of Analytical Chemist will be involved in

- Method development and analysis using HPLC, IC, GC and GCMS

- Appropriate validation strategies, fitting within the client industry standards

- Experienced at handling and preparing a wide variety of sample matrices including derivatisation for analysis

- Able to perform Wet chemistry analysis, titrations/pipetting and accurate chemical quantitative preparation

- Ongoing support and analysis for testing of organic based API’s, polymers and fine chemicals.

- FTIR analysis: including sample preparation, analysis and interpretation of FTIR spectra

- Hands on for instrument troubleshooting

- Excellent report writing skills

- Strong communication skills with internal and external clients

To be considered for this opportunity you must be able to demonstrate working analytical experience and how you meet workload deadlines. You will be required to deliver work to a high quality, working efficiently and within time and be able to work without supervision. A positive approach to new methods, equipment and problem solving are required.

The ideal candidate will be qualified to degree or higher as an experienced analytical chemist and have a number of years working in industry solving analytical problems, developing robust analytical methods from within pharmaceutical, fine chemicals or industry working to ISO17025 accreditation.
