Our client are a privately owned regional house builder who have been delivering quality family homes since the early 90's.
They don't look to take over the world with mad growth and a big grand 5 year plan to deliver umpteen thousand units per year. They deliver around 250 units per year and have done for the last 5 years. They're nice and steady.
They're looking to add a Design Manager or Senior Architectural Technician to their small but established internal Technical team, based in Lancashire, just outside of Blackburn.
They would/could also consider a specialist Layout Designer should you be one.
Their Technical team consist of 3 on the Architectural side, including the hands-on Director.
Supported by a Junior Technician they're looking for a Design Manager or Senior Technician - to replace a departing part-time Senior Technician who's moving out of the industry.
As above, they'd also consider a Layout Designer.
The role will include:
- Undertaking production, review & approval of site layouts, house type working drawings, construction details, deed plans & master deeds.
- The development of the house type range to meet the new Building Regulations and specification of renewable technologies, Bespoke house types i.e. to meet wheelchair accessible criteria.
- Planning and Building Regulation applications.
- Appointment of external consultants.
- Dealing with site queries .
- Attending meetings where required.
They're specifically looking for;
- Volume house building (preferably with a volume house builder but happy to consider practice-side experience).
- AutoCAD experience.
- Ability to review & critique technical reports.
- Ability to identify cost effective solutions.
- Strong knowledge of current (recently changed) building regulations & NHBC standards.
Salary negotiable around 55k to 60k plus 6,000 car allowance and a very competitive package.
