Cummins Mellor is recruiting a Transport Advisor for a local business established in 1981, which specializes in supplying quarry products to the construction industry.
The role involves building relationships with customers and suppliers, route planning, managing disruptions, and overseeing fleet operations.
Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, strong customer service ethics, and ideally have geographical knowledge of the UK and logistics.
The position offers a salary range of £26,000 to £29,000 per annum and requires a conscientious and hardworking individual.
The working hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and relevant experience in a similar role is preferred.

Cummins Mellor are very excited to be supporting a local business in recruiting for a new Transport advisor.

The Company was formed in 1981 to supply quarry products to the construction industry, and is now one of the largest businesses of its type in the Northwest.

Duties include:

Building strong relationships with our customers and suppliers
Route planning for drivers & checking haulage rates
Handling disruptions including breakdowns and delays
Managing the fleet & drivers
Booking materials with quarries & checking invoices
Pricing customer enquiries and issuing quotations
Liaising with our accounts / transport departments and hauliers
Maintaining accurate records

Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong customer service ethics
Ability to build rapport and trust with customers and suppliers
Good sales acumen
Geographical knowledge of the UK and an understanding of logistics / route planning would be an advantage
Problem solving
Organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure
Good computer, Word / Excel and keyboarding skills
