SEN 1-1 Teaching Assistant - Blackburn:

Prospero Teaching are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils on a 1-1 basis with challenging behaviour. You will be supporting pupils at a lovely primary school near Blackburn.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment both inside and outside the classroom. For this role, you will need previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, in particular challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering personalised support to a pupil who is displaying challenging behaviour to promote a positive learning experience.
  • Employing effective behaviour management strategies to help children navigate emotions.
  • Keeping accurate records of students behaviour, communicating regularly with the classroom teacher and SENCO.

Experience, Qualifications & Training:

  • Previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviour
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent
  • Team Teach Qualification would be highly desirable
  • Up to date Safeguarding training within the last year (desirable but training can be provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold right to work in the UK

Hold and enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application

Provide two professional child related references
