Romano Education is recruiting on behalf of a primary school in Blackburn to find a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with ADHD. This is a long-term maternity cover position, with an immediate start after February half-term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ADHD.
  • Assist the pupil in their daily classroom activities and learning tasks.
  • Support the pupil's emotional and behavioural needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to ensure the pupil’s needs are met and progress is tracked.
  • Help with the development and implementation of strategies to manage ADHD-related challenges in the classroom.
  • Monitor and support the pupil during break times and transitions between activities.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with ADHD or additional needs, within the last 2 years.
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a school setting.
  • While a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable, it is not essential for this role.
  • Passionate about supporting children and helping them reach their full potential.

Hours and Pay:

  • Working Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Pay: £14.55 per hour.
  • Type: Long-term maternity cover, starting after February half-term.
