Your new schoolHays Education are currently working with a Manchester Primary School that supports individuals with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH)/ Emotional Behavioural and Social Difficulties (EBSD). This South Manchester based Primary school is an established School that provides support to pupils across KS1 - KS2 who have emotional behavioural and social difficulties / moderate learning difficulties as well as mainstream pupils.Your new roleThis Teaching Assistant job will see you support the curriculum across KS1 and KS2 and is expected to start in May. This Teaching Assistant job requires 1:1 and small group support, phonics, supporting reading and writing interventions and de-escalating challenging behaviour. Consequently you should be an engaging passionate individual with the ability to engage disaffected individuals with special educational needs. Key aspects of this job include working cooperatively with other learning support staff and ensuring students make progress. This is a full time Teaching Assistant job, working 5 days per week.What you'll need to succeedTo be suitable for this role you must be an experienced Teaching Assistant with a level 3 childcare qualification. You should have at least 3 months experience of working with primary aged children or young people with emotional behavioural and social difficulties (EBSD/ BESD/ EBD) and/ or Autism. You must have a minimum of 40 days experience of working in schools, centres or provisions that support EBSD/ BESD/ EBD within the last 2 years, which can be referenced. Applicants with experience of working within residential care or supported living will have a significant advantage.
