I am looking for a motivated Controls Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing company. This role will suit someone who is looking to utilise their skills to help keep a start of the art production facility maintained to a high standard. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of electrical, controls and automation within their operation. With progressive training and development this company is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team of engineers.
Job Roles & Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge on Electrical systems and Electrical wiring
- Experienced in troubleshooting of electrical/electronic and control systems
- Practical knowledge of using electrical wiring for fault troubleshooting
- Practical knowledge of PM and reliability of electrical systems and controls
- Working Knowledge of PLC Controlled Safety System
- Understand the design and working principles of Safety systems
- Must have knowledge of some modern designs/brands of safety systems and their installations
- Must be able to troubleshoot basic and complex faults in electrical safety systems/components. (Safety switches, Machine Guarding Modules, Safety Relays etc)
- Must be vast with maintenance and repair of such systems
- Working/Practical knowledge of PLC systems and few major brands
- SIEMENS, Allen Bradley etc
- Must be able to back-up and perform authorized PLC programs installation/changes.
- Must be able to troubleshoot PLC fault and recommend correct solutions/improvements.
- Ability to backup HMI software and install/configure new units.
- Basic knowledge in SCADA system.
- Working knowledge in troubleshooting, repair and calibration automation systems, such as automatic packer and palletizer
- Practical Experience in Working on Drives
- Understanding of working principles of servo motors & drives
- Working knowledge of various drive designs, configurations and installation. Ability to back-up drive software and settings as well as transfer operation parameter into new drives.
- Ability to troubleshoot & repair major drive related faults as well as proffer solutions/improvements.
- Experience with maintenance of drive
- Preventive Maintenance & Computing/Analysis Skills
- Understanding of PM plan
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis
- Ability to utilize basic condition monitoring techniques (vibration analysis, thermography)
- Microsoft Office Skills for reporting, analysis and documentation.
- Experience in the use of CMMS
Required Skills & Experience:
- Engineering skills within Controls/PLC's/Automation/HMI's
- HNC/HND/Degree - Engineering Related Discipline
- Strong Electrical background
- Worked previously within a manufacturing environment
