Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Reception & Year 1
Location: Primary School, Blackburn
We are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a Reception and Year 1 class for a Primary School in Blackburn.
This Teaching Assistant position will be helping children in Reception and Year 1 with their learning and development. You will work closely with the class teacher to assist in a range of activities, such as supporting phonics lessons (using Read Write Inc), helping with counting and reading, and working with children individually or in small groups. As a Teaching Assistant, you will also help with classroom organisation, behaviour management, and supporting children during playtimes and other activities.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant, and experience working with Reception or Year 1 classes
- Previously used and confident with the Read Write Inc phonics programme
- Good understanding of early years education, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Passion for helping children learn and develop in a positive, supportive environment.
