I am thrilled to announce that one of our prominent schools in Blackburn is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Design and Technology Technician who can immediately join our dedicated team, supporting the delivery of high-quality DT lessons to our students. Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and set up materials and equipment for DT lessons and practical sessions.
  • Provide technical assistance during lessons, ensuring the safe use of tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of DT tools, machinery, and resources, complying with health and safety guidelines.
  • Support students in their project work, offering practical advice and guidance.
  • Manage stock levels of materials, ordering new supplies when necessary.
  • Contribute to the creation of classroom displays and the organisation of exhibitions and events.
  • Support the delivery of extra-curricular activities related to Design and Technology, such as after-school clubs or competitions.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience or a strong interest in Design and Technology, particularly in an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of DT equipment, including woodwork, metalwork, CAD software, and 3D printing.
  • Strong practical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
  • Excellent organisational abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • An Enhanced Child DBS or willingness to undertake one (we can help with this).
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
