Job Title: Mechanical Fitter
Pay: 20 an hour
Temp to Perm
Monday-Friday 08:00-16:30

Location - Blackburn

Main Duties include:

Assembly and installation:
Reading engineering drawings and assembling mechanical components to build new machinery or equipment, including aligning, fitting, and securing parts.
Maintenance and repair: Identifying and diagnosing faults on existing machinery, disassembling components, replacing worn parts, and reassembling to ensure proper functionality.
Preventative maintenance: Performing routine inspections and servicing on equipment to prevent breakdowns, including lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments.
Fault finding and troubleshooting:Analysing malfunctions, identifying root causes, and devising solutions to repair mechanical issues.
Operating machinery and tools: Utilising hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and specialised machinery to cut, grind, weld, and fit metal components.
Quality control: Ensuring all work meets quality standards by performing checks and inspections on completed assemblies.
Safety compliance:
Adhering to safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment while working on machinery.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

NVQ or C&G qualified
Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including bearings, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic welding techniques
