About the Role

This role is offering an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Town Planner through to Senior Town Planner to join a dynamic property team. Reporting directly to the Head of Planning, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of sites, securing planning consents for various developments such as roadside services and mixed-use projects. You will also oversee discharging planning conditions and resolving enforcement matters efficiently.

Working closely with consultants and internal teams, you will be a key player in navigating the planning process, supporting post-planning requirements, and assisting with administrative tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Acquisitions team and Project Managers on planning reviews.
  • Prepare site assessments, including policy analysis and planning history.
  • Provide planning advice on emerging policies.
  • Lead kick-off meetings and recommend consultant teams.
  • Advise on planning issues and their impacts, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Manage in-house planning applications where applicable.
  • Attend planning meetings, including committee meetings when necessary.
  • Oversee the submission and management of Condition Discharge applications.
  • Manage planning enforcement matters internally.
  • Support the Graduate Planner's development to maximise their potential.
  • Lead the appeals process and manage S.73 applications.
  • Review consultant frameworks to ensure project efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

  • RTPI Accredited Town Planning Degree
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
  • Team player with initiative and the ability to work independently.
