- Acting as the main point of contact for clients in the absence of the Head of Department.
- Managing a caseload of residential conveyancing transactions, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, shared ownership, new builds, right to buy, re-mortgages, and transfers of equity.
- Handling files from initial instruction through to completion, ensuring efficient and accurate case progression.
- Preparing correspondence, contracts, completion statements, redemption statements, SDLT applications, and Land Registry forms.
- Conducting property searches, reviewing titles, and providing legal advice relevant to each case.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage brokers, and other third parties to ensure smooth transactions.
- Taking instructions, preparing contracts, raising and responding to enquiries, and attending to exchange and completion.
- Ensuring all client telephone calls are returned promptly, maintaining the firm’s high standard of client care.
- Maintaining accurate file management and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Assisting the Head of Department/Director with caseload management, including dealing with client queries and legal procedures.
- Contributing to the firm’s business development efforts, fostering strong client and third-party relationships.
- A minimum of four years’ experience working within residential conveyancing
- Ability to manage a busy caseload efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, client-focused approach with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong technical knowledge of conveyancing procedures and title complexities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, diligent, and able to handle confidential matters with discretion.
- A positive attitude and ability to work effectively under pressure.
