Paralegal - Family Law - Law Firm - Blackburn / Remote - £25k-£28k + benefits

We’re on the hunt for a proactive, meticulous and personable Paralegal, ideally with experience within Family law, to join a successful law firm in their Blackburn office.

The Paralegal will provide a high level of legal and administrative support to the Director and senior fee earners in the Family team of an award-winning, multi-office practice.

Suitable candidates will have knowledge of law and legal procedures gained whilst working in a legal environment (min. 1 year experience desired).

You will be diligent, hard working, numerical and conscientious with a 'can-do’ and professional nature.

Key responsibilities as the Family Law Paralegal will include:

  • Supporting the Director and senior fee earners
  • File creation
  • Producing client correspondence
  • Drafting of petition / court documents
  • Preparing court bundles
  • Attending routine directions / interlocutory hearings
  • Completing online legal applications
  • Liaising with clients and answering routine client enquiries
  • Managing the collation of matter start and completion data and preparing all claims for costs

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar Paralegal / Legal Assistant role (min. 1 year experience)
  • Solid education - relevant legal qualifications are advantageous
  • Experience gained Family law is beneficial
  • Knowledge of UK law and legal procedures and processes
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise professionally at all levels
  • Strong IT literacy including good working knowledge of MS Office
  • Proactive problem solving and time management skills
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise tasks
  • Customer service focussed with the desire to provide outstanding levels of service at all times
  • Team player
