Our client, a well-respected name in contract packing services within the food industry for nearly 50 years, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias. Role Overview:
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimising machinery and equipment across the site. Your primary focus will be on preventative maintenance, swift fault diagnosis, and effective repairs, ensuring that production runs smoothly with minimal downtime.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance: Carry out regular maintenance checks to ensure all machinery and equipment are operating efficiently.
  • Problem-Solving: Quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical issues to minimise disruption to production.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Perform necessary repairs and general maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Production Changeovers: Set up machinery during production changeovers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and be knowledgeable about HACCP and BRC standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues across departments, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 years experience in food manufacturing, with a strong mechanical background.
  • Familiarity with various types of machinery, including:
    • Multihead weighers
    • Bagging machines
    • Linear weighers
    • Cartoning machines
    • Flow wrap machines
    • Shrink wrap machines
    • Coding equipment
    • Inspection equipment (e.g., checkweighers and metal detectors)
