Location - Blackburn

Main Duties include:

  • Assembly and installation:

    Reading engineering drawings and assembling mechanical components to build new machinery or equipment, including aligning, fitting, and securing parts.
  • Maintenance and repair: Identifying and diagnosing faults on existing machinery, disassembling components, replacing worn parts, and reassembling to ensure proper functionality.
  • Preventative maintenance: Performing routine inspections and servicing on equipment to prevent breakdowns, including lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments.
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting:Analysing malfunctions, identifying root causes, and devising solutions to repair mechanical issues.
  • Operating machinery and tools: Utilising hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and specialised machinery to cut, grind, weld, and fit metal components.
  • Quality control: Ensuring all work meets quality standards by performing checks and inspections on completed assemblies.
  • Safety compliance:

    Adhering to safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment while working on machinery.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

  • NVQ or C&G qualified
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including bearings, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic welding techniques
