The Role  

Responsible for the day-to-day responsive safeguarding services for students and apprentices. You will be the initial point of contact for safeguarding alerts, disclosures and referrals. As a point of contact for advice, guidance and support- you will fulfill specific duties, delegated by the Operational Designated Safeguarding Lead. 

The role will liaise with students, families, staff and external agencies to ensure swift and appropriate interventions are provided for students ‘at risk’ or vulnerable. As a member of the wider Student Support and Experience Team, you will support the highest level of safeguarding concern/ risk and enable staff to effectively promote the welfare of students and apprentices.  

The Safeguarding Practitioner is responsible for providing an appropriate ‘early help’ offer, raising awareness of prevention strategies and enabling students and apprentices to make informed choices and keep themselves safe.
