About the role:

As a Finance Business Partner, you'll be at the forefront of driving dynamic growth in the fuel and retail convenience sector. Your expertise in financial analysis will shape key decisions across fuel, EV charging, grocery, foodservice, merchandise sales, and overheads, fuelling business performance. You'll prepare financial forecasts and in-depth analysis to steer strategic initiatives, all while actively monitoring KPIs to unlock opportunities for improvement. Partnering with cross-functional teams, youll help craft annual budgets, optimise revenue, and ensure cost management is spot on for maximum profitability. With your keen eye for variance analysis, you'll take action to keep the business on track towards its financial goals, all while navigating the exciting shift to Power BI and a transformed data landscape.

What youll do:

  • Partner with senior management to develop and implement business strategies to drive growth and profitability in the forecourt sector
  • Assist in transitioning financial reporting to Power BI as the business enhances its data and finance systems
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate strategic initiatives and investment opportunities
  • Provide decision support through financial modelling, analysis, and insights to support key business decisions
  • Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities
  • Encourage a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance team, promoting innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing
  • Ensure effective resource allocation and workload management to achieve team goals and objective
  • Collaborate with the BI Team to leverage data and analytics for decision-making, performance monitoring, and developing reporting tools and dashboards
  • Work with BI analysts to create predictive models and insights that optimisebusiness operations and enhance competitive advantage

What were looking for:

  • Qualifications in Finance or related field; Chartered accountant preferred
  • A background in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with experience in retail/consumer goods and knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Synapse Analytics, and PySpark
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis, and reporting tools
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate financial analysis into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
