Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for safeguarding children and ensuring their well-being? Blackburn’s Child Protection Team is seeking a dedicated locum Social Worker to join their team on an ongoing contract, working directly with vulnerable children and families to provide support and intervention.

As a Children’s Child Protection Social Worker, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload of children at risk, carrying out thorough assessments, and developing effective safeguarding plans. You will work closely with families, schools, healthcare professionals, and legal teams to ensure children remain safe and receive the care they need.

• Manage a caseload of children in need of protection and support.

• Conduct risk assessments and create child protection plans.

• Work within the statutory framework, including Section 47 investigations and Child in Need processes.

• Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, strategy meetings, and court proceedings.

• Build strong relationships with children, families, and partner agencies to deliver the best outcomes.

• Ensure timely interventions to prevent harm and promote child welfare.

• Keep accurate and up-to-date records in line with statutory guidelines.

? A qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.? Experience in child protection, safeguarding, and risk assessment.? Strong knowledge of Children’s Legislation, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Section 47 processes.? Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.? Excellent assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.? A commitment to ensuring children’s safety and well-being.
