About the Role:

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have the skills and empathy to make a real difference in young people's lives? We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Blackburn.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require extra support in their learning and development, helping to create a positive and inclusive educational environment. You will be supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, assisting with their academic, social, and emotional needs throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, dyslexia, and behavioural difficulties.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Help students access the curriculum and engage with lessons.
  • Promote positive behaviour and work alongside other staff to manage challenges effectively.
  • Support students with personal care needs where required.
  • Record and report on students' progress, working closely with parents and other professionals.
  • Foster a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages independence and growth.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a SEN environment (though training can be provided for the right candidate).
  • A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to supporting young people.
  • Good communication skills, both with children and colleagues.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude to work.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant Level 2/3, SEND training) would be advantageous but not essential.
  • A passion for inclusion and helping children reach their full potential.
