Teaching Assistant - SEMH Enhanced ProvisionLocation: BlackburnRate: up to £17p/h
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join an SEMH enhanced provision in Blackburn. The unit supports 11 children in Years 2 to 5 with a range of additional needs, including SEN and challenging behaviour. This role involves providing tailored support to help children engage in learning within a structured and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to children with SEMH needs.
- Work on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to support learning and emotional regulation.
- Assist with classroom activities, ensuring children remain engaged and on task.
- Implement behaviour management strategies effectively.
- Support the teacher in delivering tailored learning plans.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with SEN and challenging behaviour.
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of SEMH and behaviour management strategies.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to adapt to different situations.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
