Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working with children with autism and non-verbal needs? We are seeking an experienced Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with SEN in a Primary School in Blackburn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a child with autism and non-verbal needs, ensuring they are engaged, safe, and supported in their learning environment.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and work closely with teachers and other professionals to track progress and set goals.
  • Foster positive relationships with the child to encourage social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Support the child with communication strategies, including non-verbal techniques, to enhance their interaction and learning.
  • Help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where the child can thrive.

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 3 Qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • Significant experience working with children with autism or other SEN.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work creatively to meet the individual needs of the child.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

This is a long-term contract running to the end of the current school year, with the possibility of extending the contract. You will be joining a supportive team that values inclusivity and personalised learning.
