Job: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support for Child with Autism)Location: BlackburnPosition: Full-Time (8:15 - 15:30), Long-Term Contract (with potential for ongoing employment)

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working with children with autism and non-verbal needs? We are seeking an experienced Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with SEN in a Primary School in Blackburn.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 support to a child with autism and non-verbal needs, ensuring they are engaged, safe, and supported in their learning environment.
Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and work closely with teachers and other professionals to track progress and set goals.
Foster positive relationships with the child to encourage social, emotional, and academic development.
Support the child with communication strategies, including non-verbal techniques, to enhance their interaction and learning.
Help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where the child can thrive.

Essential Requirements:

Level 3 Qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
Significant experience working with children with autism or other SEN.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to work creatively to meet the individual needs of the child.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

This is a long-term contract running to the end of the current school year, with the possibility of extending the contract. You will be joining a supportive team that values inclusivity and personalised learning.
