MERITUS are recruiting for a Laminator to join our client on an initial 12 month contract from their major site in Greater Blackburn.

LAMINATOR - INSIDE IR35 - NEG PER HOUR - GREATER BLACKBURN - 12 MONTHS - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS

We're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Laminator to join our production team. In this role, you'll be responsible for assembling, bonding, and fitting high-performance composite structures using materials such as carbon fibre and resin. You'll play a key part in creating precision components for lightweight, durable applications, ensuring each product meets exacting quality and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare tooling and moulds by cleaning surfaces and applying appropriate release agents.

  • Cut, position, and lay-up composite materials according to technical drawings and manufacturing instructions.

  • Apply resins and bonding agents with care to achieve proper coverage and structural integrity.

  • Fit, assemble, and bond composite components using both hand and power tools, ensuring accuracy and alignment.

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of completed parts to identify defects and verify quality.

  • Carry out trimming, sanding, and surface finishing to meet specified tolerances and aesthetics.

  • Collaborate with production leads and quality control to resolve issues and meet production targets.

  • Keep workstations tidy and safe, adhering strictly to health and safety regulations.

  • Support tool and equipment maintenance to ensure ongoing performance and reliability.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous hands-on experience in composite laminating, fitting, or a related manufacturing role.

  • Solid understanding of composite materials, lay-up techniques, and bonding processes.

  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, instructions, and specifications.

  • Comfortable using a variety of tools and measuring instruments to achieve high-precision results.

  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and craftsmanship.

  • Team player with good communication skills and a proactive attitude.

  • Physically fit and capable of working on your feet for extended periods while handling materials safely.
