We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter, for a national Market Leading vehicle building company.
Location of role: Warwick
We welcome applications from a Mechanical Fitting or Fabricator Welder background, vehicle building, vehicle manufacture and vehicle repair background
Strong fabrication and welding skills with a recognised vocational qualification. 2 years' experience working in a Manufacturing Engineering or commercial vehicle industry must be able to read technical drawings and recognise welding symbols. Used to working to tight delivery timescales
Duties of the Mechanical Fitter:
- Fitters/fabricators with building chassis' of municipal vehicles.
- Use of hand and power tools
- Working to engineering diagrams and drawings
- Measuring, marking up and using raw material such as aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel
- Fabrication duties
What we need from you for the Mechanical Fitter role:
- Treat H&S as the number one priority at all times. Use the correct PPE. Highlight any areas of risk.
- Take ownership of your own quality and workmanship. Carrying out personal inspections of own work.
- Ensure that drawings, build procedures, processes and instructions are adhered to
- Knowledge and experience of production processes and working to a takt time.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Ability to work in awkward, confined positions, climbing over vehicle, ability to enter/exit bodies and hoppers. Occasional heavy lifting required.
