Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook to join our client's team on a 3-6 month contract at their care home in Edinburgh. You will be responsible for preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, and morning/afternoon tea trays for their 99 residents, ensuring that food quality is consistently high and meets dietary requirements. You will be part of a team of 6 in the kitchen, supporting one another to deliver excellent service while improving the quality of the meals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, dinner, and tea trays for residents

  • Support the kitchen team in daily tasks

  • Ensure the quality and nutritional value of meals meets standards

  • Manage stock control and adhere to budget guidelines

  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness and food safety

  • Collaborate with the team to continuously improve food offerings

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in a similar kitchen role, preferably in a care home or large-scale catering

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

  • Proactive attitude and a willingness to contribute to continuous improvement
