Payroll Assistant
Paisley
15 - 16 per hour

Contract: 3 Months (Until 15th April 2025)
Hours: 20 hours per week (Flexible, ideally compressed hours between Tuesday - Friday)
Start Date: Monday, 17th February 2025

About the Role:
We are recruiting for a Payroll Assistant to join our client, a well-established firm based in Paisley, on an initial 3-month contract. This role is ideal for someone with strong payroll experience, particularly with Sage Payroll and HMRC submissions, who can hit the ground running with minimal supervision.

With 12 payrolls (most under 10 employees), the workload is straightforward, and the majority of clients provide advanced payroll information. However, with the tax year-end approaching in April, we need someone confident in handling year-end processes, P11Ds, and auto-enrolment.

Key Responsibilities:
* Processing payrolls (simple and small payrolls)
* Submitting pension files (through The People's Pension)
* Handling HMRC submissions and year-end processes
* Finalising payrolls before the current staff member departs on 28th February
* Using Sage Payroll for automated payroll processing
* Importing bank statements via Sage AutoEntry

Who We're Looking For:
* Experienced Payroll Professional - Comfortable handling year-end processes, HMRC, and Sage Payroll independently
* Detail-Oriented & Proactive - Someone who doesn't need hand-holding and can manage payroll efficiently
* Strong Knowledge of Auto-Enrolment - Experience with The People's Pension would be beneficial
* Availability - Able to start Monday 17th February and commit to the contract until 15th April

This is a part-time role, and we are happy to work around the right candidate's schedule. Ideally, hours would be compressed between Tuesday - Friday.
