We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to join a growing business based on the Fylde Coast. Reporting to the CFO, this role is critical to the organisation's financial operations, ensuring the effective management of financial reporting, compliance, and business support.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, streamlining processes, and contributing to key decision-making at both operational and strategic levels.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure accuracy in management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and budget reports.
    • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership.
    • Monitor revenue streams, including commercial partnerships, sales, and operational income.
    • Analyse financial performance, identifying cost efficiencies and areas for growth.
    • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and manage tax compliance.
    • Support key financial decisions regarding contracts, operational investments, and long-term financial planning.
    • Implement and maintain strong financial controls to mitigate risk and enhance operational efficiency.
    • Manage and mentor a high-performing finance team.
    • Liaise with senior executives and key stakeholders on financial planning and governance.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified finance professional with a strong commercial acumen and a track record of driving continuous improvement within finance functions.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in finance, including leadership roles
  • Strong understanding of financial and management accounting practices
  • Experience with financial accounting software (e.g., SAGE)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other MS Office tools
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to present clear, actionable insights
  • Experience working within regulated industries is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to influence and engage with stakeholders across all levels of a business
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on improving processes and reducing costs
