Group Financial Controller | Green Energy Solutions

Location: Blackpool (Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 remote)

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000

About the Role:

As Group Financial Controller, you will oversee the financial health of the company, ensuring efficient financial management to support its strategic goals. You’ll be part of a national team of finance professionals spread across multiple locations, working in a hybrid environment. In this key leadership role, you’ll manage and mentor a team of two Management Accountants, playing a crucial role in shaping the company’s future and its contribution to the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a finance team across multiple locations
  • Provide financial leadership and support to the CFO and senior management
  • Oversee the preparation of group financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Drive strategic business growth by collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Manage cash flow, optimise working capital, and oversee financial operations (accounting, treasury, and tax)
  • Ensure full compliance with UK GAAP and other financial regulations
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as banks and investors
  • Provide hands-on support to the finance team in a fast-paced environment
  • Promote a collaborative, positive team culture while fostering professional development

What You’ll Need:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
  • 3-4 years of post-qualified experience in a finance role (energy industry experience not required)
  • Strong financial analysis and Excel skills (e.g., V-lookups, SUMIF)
  • High emotional intelligence, with excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
