Job Description: They are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to manage both purchase ledger and sales ledger bank reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase Ledger:
    • Processing supplier invoices, expense forms, and payment requests.
    • Matching and checking purchase orders against invoices.
    • Resolving supplier queries and discrepancies in a timely manner.
    • Preparing and processing payment runs.
  • Sales Ledger:
    • Raising sales invoices and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
    • Allocating receipts to customer accounts.
    • Chasing overdue accounts and managing debt recovery.
    • Reconciling customer accounts and handling related queries.
  • Bank Reconciliations:
    • Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
    • Investigating and resolving any discrepancies promptly.
    • Ensuring all bank transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
    • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within an accounts department.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
