Reed are supporting Blackpool Council's recruitment to a Senior Occupational Health Nurse position based within the Council's dedicated Occupational Health team in the heart of Blackpool, close to all transport links.
The Council are seeking a Senior Occupational Health Nurse Adviser to enhance workplace health across the organisation. This role is ideal for an experienced OH Nurse Advisor, seeking a significant role in OH management and policy development, or a OH Advisor looking for a more senior role. Â
Day-to-day of the role:- Lead the nurse-led service, ensuring adequate occupational health provision and resources.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, training, and support for both the nursing and admin teams.
- Efficiently manage a nurse triage system to allocate referrals to the appropriate health professional within required timescales, ensuring Service Level Agreement targets are met.
- Conduct medical consultations and case conferences, providing advice and recommendations in management reports, including onward referrals if necessary.
- Offer recommendations for possible adjustments for new employees based on comprehensive assessments.
- Perform health screening and surveillance as determined by risk assessments and relevant health and safety regulations, compiling detailed outcome reports.
- Proven experience as a Senior Occupational Health Nurse Adviser or a similar role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide clinical supervision and training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage inquiries and interact effectively with all levels of staff.
- Ability to undertake detailed medical consultations and provide actionable advice.
- Knowledge of health screening and surveillance protocols.
