Our client is a growing energy consultancy who are seeking an experienced Business Development Executive to play a key role in outbound prospecting and building a sales pipeline via email, telephone and social media. You will be responsible for researching new clients and building and nurturing relationships with the UK’s largest retailers, manufacturers, and charities. Your goal will be to set appointments for the BDMs with those clients and attend those Teams meetings as well, selling energy procurement and energy management services. Key responsibilities:
- Research potential companies to prospect using social media to network
- Qualify prospects establishing energy spend levels and decision-makers
- Identify customer needs and recognize opportunities to upsell/cross-sell and additional products which include compliance and net zero
- To arrange meetings for the sales team, promoting a range of products & services
- To ensure appointments made are of high quality and meet the standard required
- Record and capture prospects from websites, cold calling and other appropriate methods
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience in a sales, lead gen or business development role within Energy
- Be a sociable, great conversation starter skilled in naturing relationships
- A high degree of self-motivation, interested in learning and sharing your knowledge.
- A crafter of engaging emails and user of LinkedIn as a source of networking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to perform research
- Collaborate with the wider business to develop effective strategies for driving sales growth.
