We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Behaviour Manager to join a school committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. This role is key in ensuring high standards of behaviour and engagement among pupils, contributing to a culture of respect, responsibility, and resilience.This role is working within an SEMH independent school for 11- to 16-year-olds.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on behaviour management strategies to maintain a safe and supportive school environment.
  • Implement, monitor, and analyse the school's Behaviour Policy in line with best practices and external inspection expectations.
  • Support staff in managing classroom behaviour effectively, offering guidance and training as needed.
  • Work closely with students, parents, and staff to address behaviour concerns and implement tailored interventions.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, acting as a mentor and role model.
  • Analyse behaviour data to identify trends and implement targeted improvement plans.
  • Promote restorative approaches to behaviour management, encouraging accountability and reflection.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team to support students' well-being and safeguarding needs.
  • Liaise with external agencies where necessary to provide additional support for students with behavioural challenges.
  • Lead initiatives to promote good behaviour, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Encourage student participation in positive reinforcement programmes and recognition schemes.
  • Oversee exclusion processes and related meetings.

Person SpecificationEssential:

  • Experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and restorative approaches.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Ability to engage and build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to working with challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive school culture.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, counselling, or behaviour management.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Familiarity with external inspection frameworks and expectations regarding behaviour and attitudes.
